Facial Expression Recognition System Using Raspberry Pi

Abstract

Emotions play a very important role in our day to day life for communication purpose. In this work, users emotion using its facial expressions can be detected. These expressions can be derived from the live feed via system camera or any pre-existing image available in the memory. Human emotions are mainly classified into seven emotions i.e. Neutral, Happy, Sad, surprised, Anger, Disgust and fear which a human face can make according to the different situations one may find itself in. It has a vast scope of study in computer vision. The entire project is classified into three major steps i.e. Face detection, facial feature extraction and classification. The main hardware used in this project is Raspberry pi .The objective of this paper is to develop a system which can analyze the image and predict the expression of the person.
