Abstract

In medical technology, the advancement of thermal therapy of either heating or cooling gives an extra edge that are intended to improve the quality of healthcare. Thermal therapy pad is a device which can influence blood circulation at an injured site, to a specific area of the body and increase the comfort of the patient. The main purpose of thermal therapy pad is to enhance the heeling process. Localized thermal transfer helps to provide one or more of the therapeutic effects. These effect refers to the acknowledgement after a treatment of any kind, the results of which are judged to be indispensable and effective.

In medical industry, thermal therapy has emerged as an effective and reliable treatment to make the patient feel good and acts as a catalyst in healing process. The forms of using of thermal therapy has a wide range. Some of the household application are using a moist hot cloth during fever, using hot water bottle for pain relief, manicure & pedicure, bonfire. This is not the limit of its application, these being the domestic application, now-a-days this therapy is being used by medical persons to cure cancer, keep the exposed tissues of patients in required surrounding so that the tissue does not get affected, keep the newly born infant warm.

The Mul-T-Pads are disposable thermal transfer devices for use in a Localized Temperature Therapy system. The Mul-T-Pad, disposable pads are intended as thermal transfer devices for use with a Temp Pump Localized Therapy Pump, which supplies warm or cold water at controlled temperatures for the application of localized therapy in situations where a physician determines that temperature therapy is necessary or desirable.
