Abstract

Beekeeping is the maintenance of honey bee colonies, commonly in hives, by humans. It is the rearing of bees in captivity for obtaining honey, bee wax and for artificial pollination. Honey is a natural sweet substance produced by honey bees, from the nectars of plant flowers and honey dew (White, 1969). The present study aim to analysis the physiological and biochemical parameters of honey samples collected from Desh Bhagat University and Punjab Agriculture University. The study is basically focused on analyzing various parameters like Reducing sugars, Protein content, Moisture content, pH, Ash content, Mineral content, Free acidity. All parameters were significantly influenced in honey sample collected from different locations.

Keywords: Beekeeping, Honey, Reducing sugar content, Protein content, Moisture content, Ash content, Mineral content, pH. Free Acidity.
