Socio-political Violence in Githa Hariharan’s Fugitive Histories

Abstract

Githa Hariharan, an epoch making star in Indian Fiction in English, eroded the age- old wisdom of saying proverbs, stories, myths and belief. Hariharan dealing political events,religious and political violence of over a hundred year period reflected directly and indirectly in literature. Fugitive Histories2009 is fiercely political, rooted in the atmosphere of jingoistic nationalism and communal trouble that have intensified in India in the past two decades.
