Abstract

Theliterature isa particular subject of study in all the books and articles that have been published about it. Literature, most generically, is body of written works. More restrictively, literature refers to writing considered to be an art form or any single writing deemed to have artistic or intellectual value, often due to deploying language in ways that differ from ordinary usage.  The name literature has been traditionally applied to those imaginative works of poetry and prose distinguished by the incentives of their authors. Alice Walker is an African-American novelist, short-story writer, poet essayist and activist. Her most famous novel The Color Purple was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the National book award in 1983.
