Abstract

The world is a better place when women have the equal power to lead. Women are half talent of human race; the world needs feminine and masculine traits to solve problems of the world together. As far as education system is concerned, the dynamics have changed particularly because of women leaders playing an important role in schools and colleges. Not only are they leading important roles in schools and colleges, but also assuming personal responsibilities for tackling issues concerning gender equality, poverty eradication, children education, climate change etc. For women to lead and take charge of such responsibility, they have to be capable of holding positions of power and influence in the education world.

Second half of the twentieth century for women has been a tremendous gain in three areas- education, rights and leadership. This has driven the change with accelerating gender equality, equality rights matter because it can constrain the choice available for women in many aspects of life. More women are educated and literate than ever before. More women in positions of power within schools or colleges serve as strong role models for young girls. When girls see women from their own community in leadership position, the possibility for their own accomplishment become real. In todays time when there are increases cases on sexual harassment, having women as a part of institution is todays necessity.

In 2012, Harvard business review published evaluation of the competency model for leadership development, created by Zenger Folkman, which showed that women possess more qualities that fit leader personality. They are even more ahead in terms of self-awareness and self-development. Women are among the most talented and respected leaders.
