Abstract

Due to increasing population expansion and industrialization, several innovative methods for waste reuse and cost reduction in industrial processes utilizing rice husk as a valuable resource have been developed. Various industrial and household uses of rice husk and rice husk ash are described in this article. Heavy metals are removed from wastewater using rice husk as an adsorbent. Because it is a renewable and environmentally beneficial fuel, lignocellulosic biomass is utilized for bioethanol production in most nations throughout the globe. It is hoped that the study would encourage researchers to focus on developing non-food feedstocks. Rice husk ash is produced when rice husks are burned. We will cover the many uses of rice husk and rice husk ash in this review. Parboiled rice hulls are used as a substrate or medium for gardening, including hydroculture in certain cases. Rice hulls have been found to have no effect on plant growth regulation.
