360 Degree Wellness at Work Drives Positive Engagement: A Study in Selected Manufacturing Units of West Bengal

Abstract

The emergence of global competitive era has marked organizational complexity, diverse work culture, and contest, issues of grievance, stress and discontent. With the changing organizational set up, a glaring change has also been noticed in the behavior of employees. Complexities, constraints and work pressure have led to greater amount of differentiation. Thus well being of employees need to be catered. Wellness of employees at workplace plays a central role in creating flourishing societies. By focusing on well being of employees at work make individuals happy, competent and satisfied with their roles and responsibilities. It leads to productivity, creativity, loyalty and involvement at work. The paper tries to highlight the significance of 360 wellness at work that includes Employee Assistance programs (EAP), Organizational Culture, Work life balance and Emotional wellness and distressing. It can help employees to strive towards organizational goals. These wellness initiatives at work has resulted in broadening of an employees thought, enhancing their coping abilities social skills and self mastery. It ingrains in trust in the workplace and they voluntarily get involved at work. The research has been conducted in different manufacturing units of West Bengal. Convenience sampling technique has been adopted for the survey. Close ended questionnaire were distributed among employees to collect the data. The results have shown that all the four factors have a significant influence on employee engagement.
