A NOVEL APPROACH FOR IMPROVING THE PRODUCTIVITY OF CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT

Abstract

People involved in constructions have diverse opinions on the subject of productivity measurement, mostly because the term productivity is not easily defined and understood. Furthermore, causes of productivity loss are not always predictable and easy to track. It usually requires much effort to define those causes and much more effort to adequately face them. As equipment is indispensable part of construction industry plays and important role in new construction project. They help in reducing time and improving the quality and productivity, output calculations depends upon the cycle time, which is the time taken by the machine to complete one full cycle of operation, this cycle changes according to the machines and the job conditions. From the given study we have find out different factors which affects the selection of equipment and maintenance of equipment for giving the better output i.e., nothing but improving productivity. The research paper includes the specifications of the excavation equipment and the working capacity. This study concluded that the proper selection of equipment is the most important thing and it is mostly depend upon the site condition and type of project.
