A Study on How the Concept of Green Economy Utilized in “Nava Keralam” Project by Kerala Government

Abstract

The world is passing through global warming and climate change. Every nook and corner of world is facing the adverse effects of climate change. The uncontrolled utilization of natural resources, unscientific land utilization aggravated the impacts of climatic change. The climatic changes experienced by south India especially consecutive flood occurred in Kerala becomes the context of study. As a solution for environment crisis faced by the world, the terms like low carbon economy and green economy get much attention in modern society. The aim of this paper is to examine the role of Nava Keralam mission by Kerala government for creating conditions for green economy.
