Abstract

In many ways some phenomena in physics in different domains are analogous. In some cases, the phenomena appearing in physics also show up in non-physics contexts. In the present work we have used two phenomena appearing in different domains to make a comparative study. The time resolved spectra of bioluminescence of fireflies have been compared with the photon number probability distribution of squeezed state of light. The root of the analogy lies in the identification of the fact that both are oscillatory in nature and involves photon number.
