Abstract

this article provides the design and analysis of square multi-band antenna notched at different frequencies to provide resonant frequencies for different applications. The antenna design is based on 25mmx25mm dimensions, three U- shaped slots of same width are made in patch with a defected ground. A simple design is implemented on the ground side which resembles a door shaped structure. The multi-band Antenna provides nine resonant frequencies for wide band applications with good bandwidth efficiency for wide band applications. The antenna resonates at 2.2 GHz,  5.1 GHz, 7.9 GHz, 9.9 GHz, 11.8GHz,14.3 GHz,17.1 GHz,19.6 GHz and 23.8 GHz with percentage bandwidth of about 2.8% (1.9GHz-2.7GHz), 5.2% (4.7GHz-5.3GHz), 8.4%  (7.7GHz-8.5GHz),      10.2%  (9.6GHz-10.3GHz),

11.9% (11.4GHz-112.1GHz), 14.3% (14.2GHz-14.5GHz), 18.1% (16.8GHz-18.3GHz) & 22.1% (18.4GHz-22.3GHz) respectively. The frequencies at which the antenna resonates are used for different applications like 3G,  WLAN, Satellite, X-band (8-12GHz) frequencies of 7.9 GHz, 9.9 GHz are used for various satellite and radar applications and frequency  of  23.8GHz-24.2GHz can be used for 5G applications. The design is made simple and compact to offer different applications under a single device. The better results are provided which are good agreements for wideband applications.
