A Comparative Study of Selected Private and Public Sector Bank with Special Reference to Corporate Social Responsibility in India

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility is a Formation of administration by which corporate organizations implement their philanthropic vision for social welfare. It is a powerful way to achieve sustainable competitive profits and achieve lasting value s for the shareholder as well as the shareholder. This study has mainly focus on interested area of selected public and private Indian bank in CSR practice. The main objective of the study is to know about CSR practice area and amount spent on CRS by selected banks. For sample study take 5 public banks and 5 private banks. It is to analyze how much selected banks has done under the new rules after 2013. To meet the objective of the study data were collected from annual reports of selected banks and analyzed through Mean, SD, CV, and Two way ANOVA using excel. The analyzed data found that the majority of selected banks CSR activities are focused on education, environment, and healthcare. This study concludes that The Companies Act 2013 paved a way for organizations to contribute towards CSR but the results were not satisfactory. But still the Study Suggest that there are chances to increase their performance toward society specially by public banks.
