Abstract

WSNs are the combination of small devices called sensor nodes, gateways and software. These nodes use a wireless transmission medium and are able to detect and transmit data to other nodes. In general, WSN is composed of two types of nodes, namely generic nodes and gateway nodes. Generic nodes that is able to detect while gateway nodes are used to route such information. This paper proposes a methodology which is a combination of recharging and traffic balancing. This mechanism is tested on sensor and non-sensor nodes to find out the optimum type of nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks scenario. The paper just proposes a flowchart mechanism which if implemented on NS2 could help to find out optimum type of node.
