Abstract

Linguistic semantics is defined as the study of how languages organize and express meanings. The term
semantics come from the Greek word sign. The meanings of words in a language are interrelated.
Componential analysis of meaning can be a useful approach in the study of meaning. But componential
analysis has some difficulties and limitations in its application. Before knowing about componential
analysis, we have to know about meaning.
