Optical Properties Of One Dimensional Plasma-Dielectric Photonic Crystal

Abstract

In this present study, I studied the reflectance properties   of one-dimensional plasma photonic crystal of electromagnetic waves in microwave region of electromagnetic spectrum. The Plasma Photonic Crystal structure is composed of alternate thin layer of plasma and dielectric material. For obtaining the equation for dispersion relation, we have solved the Maxwell scalar wave equation.

Beside this I also studied the behavior of group velocity and effective index of refraction of PPCs in microwave region. I used Transfer Matrix Method (TMM) for calculating reflectance and dispersion relation of PPCs.
