A Review Paper on Optimization Techniques Used in Designing Power System Stabilizer

Abstract

This paper discusses about the bio inspired most useful and best Optimization techniques used in Power System Stability (PSS) such as Cuckoo Search Optimisation Technique (CSO), Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO), and the recently developed Whale Optimisation Algorithm (WOA). These algorithms are broadly used in most fields such as in Optimum PMU placement, Improved Redial Distribution Network, PSS Based Angle Stability in Power system. Author presents an amalgam survey on traditional and modern optimization techniques, aiming at optimal placements and optimization. The extent of this paper covers scientific/numerical, heuristic/meta heuristic, and other pertinent enhancement procedures. Also, an exhaustive survey is offered from the point of view of unmistakable targets, for example, improve power quality, flaw time minimization, dependability, soundness.
