A Study of the Curricular Aspects of National Assessment and Accreditation Council ‘B’ Graded Teacher Education Institutions in Gujarat

Abstract

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has adopted manual for institutions for assessment and accreditation in India. The researchers studied observations of its Peer Team listed in reports of accredited Teacher Education Institutions in Gujarat State. The Curricular Aspects is an importance criterion amongst seven criteria of manual. The researchers observed that the curriculum for B.Ed. course was designed by affiliating university, highly activity based curriculum and in tune with the National Curriculum Framework given by National Council Teacher Education, no flexibility in the choice of subjects, formal feedback from students, academic peers and heads of practice teaching schools etc.
