A Study of the Relationship Between Mental Health and Academic Achievement of pursuing post graduation students

Abstract

Mental health is closely related with academic achievements for the success of any type of education, sound mental health is very essential. Mental health affects the learning and retaining of knowledge in the classroom. A mentally healthy person acquires more information, skill and knowledge which give them control over environment. Students having good mental health show more academic achievement as compared to mentally unhealthy students. School plays a critical role in promoting the health and safety of student and helping them establish lifelong healthy behaviors. Research also has shown that school health programme can reduce the prevalence of health risk behaviors among young people and have a positive effect on academic performance.  After knowing these facts before and after the admission develops guidelines and strategies for schools to address health risk behaviors among students and creates tools to help schools implement these guidelines. In classroom should be provided favorable condition for the betterment of mental health. In this empirical study, it is clear that mental health is an inseparable part of education and the success and significance of any type of education depends on mental health.
