A Comparative Study of Self Control in Patients with Diabetes and Obesity

Abstract

Diseases of affluence is a term sometimes given to selected diseases and other health conditions which are commonly thought to be a result of increasing wealth in a society. By enhancing self-control, individual may become the owner of its health, reduce the quantity of the medicines, increase the effects of medication and may also delay the occurrence of pathology. In lifestyle diseases such as diabetes type 2 and obesity, the dietary and lifestyle control is very important in prevention and cure so therefore, self-control plays a vital role, recognizing which, diabetic and obese sample are used in the present study. The sample of 180 adults whose age ranging from 45 to 55 years was chosen purposively, who fits in the inclusion criteria from the population. 12 patients of each group from each hospital were selected, in this way 60 adults from each diseased group were chosen who fulfill the clinical diagnosis for the same. It was found that, there was a significant difference in self-control level of the studied samples. Analysis showed that highest self-control was found in the control sample and least was found in obese group. Self-control of diabetics lies between these two.
