Abstract

The Scheduled Caste people are primarily artisans, workers, professionals, or servicemen. In other words, they belong to different professions in the present day circumstances and that even many institutions and associations are also run by them. They are in the lowest rung in the caste hierarchy throughout the country of India. In this social order of uneven relationships, they are at the underside; and therefore are thought to be generally substandard to all others in the Indian community. This paper is based on the secondary sources of data collected from the news papers and findings which have come out from the analysis based on the Hindi News Papers i.e., Dainik Jagran and Amar Ujala, for identifying events. Data have been collected from various news items which are related to the scheduled caste protests in western U.P District (Meerut) during last five years from 2005 to 2010. On the basis of these data it has been made an effort to analyze the scheduled caste protests in Meerut District.
