Role of Employee satisfaction and better Employee Retention: An Empirical Study of IT Industry in Indian context

Abstract

IT (Information Technology) industry is a sector which is blooming day by day. IT industry provides employees high salary packages, better welfare facilities and other so many things that encourage people to work in this sector. Success of IT companies actually depends on its manpower. So it become important for every IT or software company to take care of their employees and make efforts that the employees are continuously satisfied with their job. Work environment in IT companies is becoming so stressful day by day. Work pressure, long working hours, high competition, stress, keep on updated themselves about new technologies are some of the problems face by IT employees on daily basis. Sometime due to these problems employees decides to leave the job and start looking for better opportunities. Company can face major manpower crises if employee retention is very high and it can affect its profits and sustainability. Time, energy and money areagain wasted on new employees in grooming them according to company environment and they have will also take time in adjusting in new environment. Manpower is a key element of success in any IT industry so it is a duty for company to make effective policies for job satisfaction and employees retention.
