Abstract

Methods: Diabetes was induced in Wister rats by intraperitoneal administration of STZ (55 mg/kg.b.w). Wistar rats in each were divided into five groups and these animals were used for the study. Serum biochemical parameters such as, blood glucose determination, total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL), total protein (TP) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol were estimated. The activities of liver functional markers, super oxide dismutase (SOD) and lipid peroxidation were measured.
