Feature Extraction Techniques Used in Data Mining – A Literature Survey

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Data Mining technique is capable to process the huge quantity of data. The DM applications contain dataset with huge dimensionality.The performance of the machine learning algorithms get corrupted  when we have huge dimensionality and this problem can be resolved using a technique called Dimensionality Reduction (DR). DR is an necessary preprocessing technique in DM to reduce the high dimensionality. In DR,  Feature Extraction is the important  techniques  to  mine  the  most  important  features.  The  objective  of  this  survey  is  to  provide  a various feature extraction approaches to develop the classification accuracy. This review gives an overview of various feature extraction techniques.
