Design of Efficient Micro-strip Patch Antenna for RF Energy Harvesting

Abstract

In this paper a compact and efficient antenna design is suggested, which operates on ISM band with centre frequency of 2.4 GHz. A Radio Frequency to Direct Current conversion Schottky diode (HSMS2860) is deployed to generate the DC voltage for operating a battery less sensor for RF power harvesting using the designed antenna. An efficiency of 80% through IE3D stimulation software is archived by suggested design [1]-[3]. Further an antenna circuit is also design using RF-DC schottky detector diode and a micro strip patch antenna. The antenna circuit design is stimulated through IE3D stimulation software. The Proposed antenna design is a possible candidate to be used as sensor or device at 2.4 GHz frequency band Eg. Zigbee, WIfi, etc [4]-[5].
