Abstract

This paper deals with the review of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Energy Conversion System. There are increasing demand of wind power generation a large percentage of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind energy conversion system (WECS) wich is connected to the grid. The DFIG based WECS has many advantage like as variable speed operation, power generated from rotor as well as starter, controlled possibility of active and reactive power , large numbers have been installed this date. The operation of DFIG based WECS under steady state and electrical grid disturbance, major problems fluctuation of its output power and low voltage ride through capability of WECS. This work focuses on stabilize the output power injected to grid and improved the behavior of variable speed DFIG based WECS. The DFIG under symmetrical voltage dip use control technique of the energy storage system (ESS). This paper presents an extensive review of different applied solution for DFIG WECS with energy storage system and the control strategies use for its fluctuation output power problem.
