Employee’s Perception on Quality of Work Life and Job Satisfaction in IT Sector

Abstract

Quality of work life plays a very significant role in motivating a person to work with full enthusiasm at work place. The present study is aimed at finding out employees perception of their work-life quality in IT Organization. Descriptive research design is used in the present study. The sample respondents are comprised of IT professionals belonging to age group of 21 to 50 years. Primary data from 128 employees is collected with the help of structured questionnaire which is designed to meet the objectives of the study. Six variables to measure Quality of Work Life (QWL) are examined namely support from organization, work-family conflict, relationship with peers, self-competence, impact on job, meaningfulness of job, optimism on organizational change, autonomy, access to resources and time control. All these variables are tested the relationship with job satisfaction. The test indicated that each of the QWL variables on its own is a salient predictor of Job Satisfaction.
