Abstract

Womens instinctive perception of and insight their reactions and responses, perplexities and problems, the complex work of their inner selves, disturbances and their emotional involvements help them in portraying a life size picture of the contemporary women with all her hopes and frustrations, longings and aspirations. Women, responding quiveringly to the sensuous and sensitive surrounded by vicious and violent circumstances, reacting neurotically to the overpoweringly enveloping existential problems, begin to appear in the fictional world of women writers. Women in our society are considered as secondary, marginalized and weak. According to Indian tradition she is supposed to make all kinds of sacrifices for the welfare of the family. Right from the childhood she is taught that her main duty is to obey. Traditional woman has no her own self.
