A Study of Career Decision Making Among Adolescents in Relation to Gender

Abstract

The present study was conducted to find out the difference in career decision making among adolescents in relation to gender (male and female). A sample of eight hundred adolescents (400 males and 400 females) studying in tenth standard in Government Schools affiliated to Punjab School Education Board, Mohali was selected from Bathinda and Ludhiana district of Punjab ,India for the study. Random sampling technique was employed to collect the sample. Career Decision Making Scale (Singh, 2014) was used to collect the data. Descriptive statistics and t-test were employed to find out the difference between male and female students in career decision making. The results of the study revealed that there is no significant gender difference in career decision making among adolescents on both the sub scales of career decision making i.e. career decidedness and career indecision.
