Realization of ferromagnetic phase transition through Ising model –a literature review

  • Madhumita Nath et al.

Abstract

Ising model, proposed almost 100 years back by W. Lenz, is considered as one of the simple
statistical-mechanical model but rich with its characteristics to explain phase transition phenomenons.
The potential application of the model ranges from earthquake dynamics [1], tumor research [2],
treatment of chronic pain [3], social science problem [4] to universal spin model[5]. The wide
application of this model restrict the article to discuss only a part of it. Here in this article, an
overview of the model along with a brief literature review on realising the ferromagnetic phase
transition is presented.
