Relation of yeast colony survivability to Cellular specialization and social communication: A new perspective for fungal pathogen

  • Soumita paul et al.

Abstract

Yeast is an unicellular organism as well as it can form highly organised multicellular organism.
The social interaction within different types of association require for proper development of
cell population. Ammonia, a quorum sensing molecule, significantly differentiate colony
according to location of cell in horizontal as well as vertical form. The position of cell directly
related to their survival rate. Here we discussed about the different forms of yeast in
multicellular form and their location specific function within and among the near-by colonies.
Now-a-days, Candida albicans emerge as a contemporary and striking model to study the
various aspect in eukaryotes. Here we discussed about the different forms of yeast in
multicellular form and their location specific function within and among the near-by colonies.
