EXPLORING THE VITAL EXPERTISE ESSENTIAL FOR UPBUILD OF EFFICIENT YOUNG TECHNOPRENEURS – A PRACTICAL OVERVIEW

Abstract

Entrepreneurs are the lifeline of a developing economy. Economies like India are struggling towards developing new entrepreneurs every year. The present study is an attempt to explore the skills essential for a young technopreneur to be successful with this venture. The study has covered 783 students, final year engineering students in Tamil Nadu, India. The major assessment parameters considered for evaluation were communication, self-confidence, risk taking ability, decision making and creativity. A quantitative approach was resumed and Analysis of Moment Structure 7 software was used for the analysis. The results indicated that Self-confidence, Innovation & Creativity are the prime skills required for producing successful entrepreneurs. The other skills are subsequently derived automatically when they hone these prime abilities. Therefore, by imparting these prime skills through education at schools, colleges and day to day activities, engineering students can have a successful technopreneurial career.
