A Study on Government Supporting System for the Growth of ITeS / BPO Sector in India

Abstract

Outsourcing is the management or day-to-day execution of an entire business function by a third party service provider.  The idea of outsourcing has its roots in the competitive advantage theory propagated by Adam Smith in his book An Inquiry in to the Nature and Cause of The Wealth of Nations. BPO sector in India has been showing some positive signs with demands, from western countries, increasing manifold due to the availability of cost-effective labour in India, who are skilled and also fairly good in English. In the recent years, BPOs are attracted and has been impressive for research activities related to medical, game and legal services.   Current National Association of Software and Services Company (NASSCOM) statistics show that ITeS BPO Export have grown to 28.4 billion in FY 20018 19. The government of India initiated a series of software export policies from the late 1960s. The Information Technology Act, 2000, lowering customs duties on IT products, allowing 100 per cent foreign investment.
