Abstract

Women have been into business for the past several decades. However, it is noteworthy to mention that there is a paradigm shift in the womens perspective in the business. Women in business is the resultant of either push factor or pull factor. Both factors create self- actualisation in women. The former is the reason for self-actualisation whereas the latter is the resultant of the self-actualisation.This paper explains the self-actualisation of women in entrepreneurship. In the patriarchal system, for a woman to reach the stage of self-actualisation she has to step out of her comfort zone. Maslow has marked self-actualisation in the top of the pyramid which happens after receiving the basic and other needs. Studies have shown women entrepreneurs tend to be more successful which never can happen overnight. But it is made possible by every female entrepreneur with her various skills in business in the process of overcoming the problems and barriers in their path of entrepreneurship.
