Synthesis of precursors of di-aryl alkanes as model for conducting organic polymer

Abstract

The synthesis of 2,4 pentanediol , that act as a precursor for the synthesis of model compounds of
conducting organic polymer, has been performed under different condition like change of solvent
system, molar ratio of acetylacetone and sodium borohydride and different temperature condition. IR
of the performed reaction has been recorded and in some condition, the reaction has achieved some
success.
