Political Entrepreneurship Theory: Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Indian Economy

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is creation of a new self-sustaining every type of organization able to deliver benefits to society for its sustenance. Aspects of entrepreneurship include utilization of untapped opportunities, and creation of exchange relationship with society and development of a team committed to the goals of the organization (Jain, 2019). Entrepreneurship has different variety. Political entrepreneurship is contemporary subject matter of studies. Political entrepreneurship contains direction of coercively obtained resources by the state toward processes of production which would not otherwise have taken place (McCaffrey and Salerno, 2011). Political Entrepreneurship explores the role of political entrepreneurs in regional growth and entrepreneurial diversity. A political entrepreneur as a politician, bureaucrat or officer within the publicly funded sector who encourages entrepreneurship for growth and employment using innovative approaches (Karlsson,  Silander and Silander, 2016).

The main objective of the paper is to explore and review concept and opportunities of Political Entrepreneurship in Indian economy. The research found that the there is significant relationship between good governance and political entrepreneurship resulting into new opportunities. Getting the institutions right and ensuring good governance are considered essential for ensuring growth and prosperity.
