JOB SATISFACTION AND ITS IMPACT ON JOB PERFORMANCE IN RURAL BANKS –A STUDY OF ANDHRA PRAGATHI GRAMEENA BANK YSR DISTRICT

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between Job Satisfaction and performance in the Regional rural bank of Andhra Pragati Grameena bank. The study instrument used was a standard questionnaire with 36 items that measure nine dimensions of job satisfaction. Pay, promotion, supervision, fringe benefits, contingent rewards, operating procedures, coworkers, nature of work, communication. The questionnaire was distributed to 100 bank employees, with 100 of them being returned. Of these 100 returned questionnaires 100 were valid.  Data analysis consisted of the computation of descriptive statistics in order to examine the job satisfaction levels of the respondents. The study results indicated that bank employees were moderately satisfied with their job. After the researcher collected the data obtained from the study sample, the proper statistical procedures were performed on the data. The results of the study indicate the following There was a significant positive correlation (a = 0.05) between job satisfaction and performance.
