Abstract

The Ghadar Movement was an offshoot of the ill-treatment meted out to the Indians living abroad especially in Canada and the United States. The majority of the Ghadarites had been from Punjab as the Punjabis had migrated in great numbers to the foreign lands for greener pastures. The Jandiala village in Punjab had been famous for the fact that at least eight of its residents had taken an active part in the Ghadar Movement. Although the then Indian British government crushed this Movement with an iron hand; yet this Movement left an indelible mark on the future course of Indian history. This paper focuses on the participation and achievements of the unsung martyrs of Jandiala who contributed in this movement and uphold the spirit of Indian freedom struggle.
