Abstract

Kashmir always had been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan since 1947 and four wars have been fought between the two nations along with many other skirmishes in the past seven decades. With the recent change of the status of Kashmir according to the Presidential Order of 5th August 2019, there have been many frustrations on the Pakistani side as it has dashed much hopes of Pakistan and has proved India to be a powerful nation which can take decisions which will ameliorate its international power and position. In the light of the recent constitutional changes, this paper seeks to historically overview the Kashmir issue as an important aspect of Indo-Pak relations.
