Does the Satisfaction Level of Employees in Different Department Vary – An Analysis of Oil Companies

Abstract

Employee satisfaction or job satisfaction is, quite simply, how content or satisfied employees are with their jobs. Employee satisfaction is typically measured using an employee satisfaction survey. Factors that influence employee satisfaction addressed in these surveys might include compensation, workload, perceptions of management, flexibility, teamwork, resources. These things are all important to companies who want to keep their employees happy but employee satisfaction is only a part of the overall solution.  The study focuses on employees satisfaction of two different oil companies. The primary objective is to study the satisfaction of employees in different departments. There are four departments 1.Account 2.Marketing 3.Purchasing 4.Packing. The second objective is examine the satisfaction of employees between gender(male and female). The data was collected by multi stage stratified random sampling method. Sample size comprised of 80 employees from two different oil companies. The tool used is Satisfaction Dissatisfaction employees inventory by D.M. Pestonjee (1973) which has 80 items. Data would be analysed using SPSS.
