ANALYSIS OF INDIAN CRIME RATE USING SIMPLE K-MEANS

Abstract

Crime is the biggest threat around the world. It affects the daily part of life and affects economic growth. Crime analysis and avoidance is a efficient approach for identifying and analyzing patterns and trends in crime. Our system can forecast regions which have high probability for crime occurrence and can visualize crime level areas. As technology has increased really well it helps to predict the reason behind crimes and ways crimes can be stopped or actions can be taken on the beforehand. This paper analysis the crime rate in India, 35 Indian states including Union Territories are considered for analyzing the crime rate. Kidnapping one of the major crime and this paper scrutinizes the highest kidnapping rate in India and the district that has highest crime rate in Tamil Nadu. Data mining and clustering methodologies are adopted to analyze the crimes by using simple k-means.
