Marketability of Online Baby Products in Kerala

Abstract

The decline in number of infants in a family, growth in women employment and increase in disposable income of the family led to the growth of baby care product market. Technological development gave impetus to E-Commerce and e-tailing.  Baby care product segments include, baby apparels, baby toy, baby food, baby cosmetics, accessories, health products, hygiene products. Present study evaluates the acceptability and marketability of online baby care products among parents in Kerala. The study enquires the customer preference of online baby product on the basis of geographical location. In the study a sample of 130 respondents selected on the basis of judgment sampling technique. The study evaluates the buying motives and customer satisfaction of urban and rural customers in online and offline purchase of baby care products,  The study  observed  that Urban respondents are brand conscious and give importance to convenience where as rural respondents like to give advanced products to their kids  at reasonable price
