INFLUENCE OF WORK LIFE BALANCE ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT: A FIELD OF SURVEY AMONG IT EMPLOYEES OF CHENNAI

Abstract

            Organizational commitment is referred to as the psychological commitment of the workers towards their workplace. It gives the employees the feeling of responsibility and accountability for the accomplishment of the goals of the organization. On the other hand, balance of work and life is the management of work both in the workplace and also in the family. The present study is an attempt to identify the association between the OC (organizational commitment) and the work life balance among the employees working in the IT field of Chennai.  Data was collected through a questionnaire. Sample population was selected through simple random sampling. The size of the sample was ascertained as 100. Result of the study proved that better balance in work and life will assure a better commitment towards the organization.
