Abstract

Most organizations look at training and development as an integral part of the human resource development activity. The principal objective of training and development division is to make sure the availability of a skilled and willing workforce to an organization. The automotive sector is continuously facing rapid expansion due to increased human needs and due to coming of major players in the sector, the focus is more on the skilled employees and therefore development is at its pace. Each and every organization tries to analyse the need for training to make every employee to equip themselves with knowledge and skills to perform the work effectively. Employee training and development enables employees to develop skills and competencies necessary to enhance bottom-line results for their organization. A targeted training and development program focused on strategic skills can significantly enhance profits quickly Survey design used in the study was descriptive in nature, primary and secondary data were used in the study. Primary data was collected through questionnaire from the respondents. Secondary data was collected from company records, internet etc. A Structured questionnaire is used for the study. The Sampling procedure used in the study was simple random sampling. A sampling tools were used or analyzing the data was bar chart ,percentage analysis, chi-square, Anova, multiple regression. The overall training and development programs in the organization are at satisfactory level.
