Human Rights are Women’s Rights

Abstract

In 1995 at the Beijing conference, Hillary Clinton declared that Human rights are womens rights. They must enjoy their human rights to participate fully in Social and Political live of their country. And as an outcome, The Beijing Declaration of Action set forth three objectives relating to the human rights of women, which are; protecting womens human rights through implementing rights-based instruments; ensuring quality and nondiscrimination through the rule of law, and achieving legal literacy as a means to womens political empowerment. Various steps were taken at international as well as national level but less output came out. Even after granting various rights, they are struggling for their basic human rights. They are often victims of human rights abuses. They cannot participate in decisions that affect their lives and are denied political participation and fair representation, employment, etc. They are not allowed to get education or receive proper health care. They dont feel safe even within their home as suffered violence there also. They are molested in public but no one come forward to help her out. Today also, they are subjected to harmful traditional practices such as denying girls to enter any temple and even in their own kitchen during menstruation; as considered them impure during this period. So, in this modern world where all are progressing, condition of women is getting worse.

This paper will focus on such issues of women which they face in their day to day life and also the hurdles in their empowerment. We can imagine the situation where Normal humans are fighting for their human rights, what is the condition of womens basic human rights. So, the much concern areas will be womens safety, health, education, eradication of poverty.
