Strange Number System: A New Vista than Traditional Number System

Abstract

Number system is used from the ancient age in everywhere, especially traditional number system (TDS) (binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal). However, except the TDS i.e., traditional number system, but there are also some other number systems, which are not widely known or used as traditional number system in computing, but they have also some attractive characteristics in computing and having a real mathematical distinction in its favor. The numbers in strange number system are those numbers which poses some extra features than the numbers of traditional number system viz. decimal number system (base 10), binary number system (base-2), octal number system (base-8) and hexadecimal number system (base 16). Some of the strange numbers are unary number system, ternary number sysetm, , Nonary number system, ..., unodecimal number system, , vigesimal number system sexagesimal numer system, etc. Today, strange number system is using to develop efficient digital systems. The strange number system will useful for all students, researchers and knowledge seekers to avoid the deficiency in computing.
