Mental health and Job Satisfaction in Employees Following Short Term Kundalini Yoga

Abstract

The aim of the study was to assess the efficacy of integrated yoga practices on the level of mental health and job satisfaction of private employees. 20 employees with ages ranged between 18-50 years {meanS.D. = 368.9 years} were selected as sample for this study. They all were employees of a private company located in the northern region of India. The Employee Mental Health Inventory (EMHI) and Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS) were used to make snapshot of mental health and job satisfaction of the subjects. After the administration of the questionnaires, 45 days of kundalini yoga practice was given to the subjects.The pre and the post mean values of mental health and job satisfaction were separately compared using paired-t test. Pre and post mean were compared of the sample before and after the yogic practice.Significant difference was found in mean scores of Mental Health (p>0.05) & Job Satisfaction (p>0.05) following 45 days of kundalini yoga practice.
