ROLE OF EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: A STUDY OF ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS AMONG TEACHER TRAINEES

Abstract

This study examined the role of education for sustainable development and environment awareness among teacher trainees. This study adopted survey method of research. Participants were 60 teacher trainees (30 male and 30 female) of science and arts stream randomly selected from Sohan Lal D.A.V college of Education,Ambala .The research instruments used for data collection was environment awareness scale developed by Dr. K Yeshodhara. The study reveals that there is no any significant difference between male and female teacher trainees regarding environment awareness and there is no significant difference between art and science teacher trainees regarding environmental awareness.
