Abstract

ln the present work we have recorded and analyzed various fringe patterns and their evolutions when a monochromatic beam (He-Ne or Argon-ion laser) is allowed to be incident on a test tube having glass spherules with some liquids. We have used fringe analysis software named FringXP to analyze the fringes. The interferograms or interference patterns are very common in nature and proper analysis will indicate theoptical behavior of the medium. The contour diagrams represent the wavefront shape in two-dimension. The contour lines follow paths of constant height, they are color coded so that they can easily be distinguished.
