Abstract

In this paper, multi item inventory models of deteriorating items with demand dependent production rate are developed in a fuzzy environment. Here, the objectives of maximizing the profit and minimizing the wastage cost are fuzzy in nature. Total average cost, warehouse space, inventory costs, setup cost and selling prices are also assumed to be vague and imprecise. The impreciseness in the above objective and constraints have been expressed by fuzzy linear membership function and that in inventory costs and prices by lotus petal fuzzy number. Models have been defuzzified by the regular weighted point technique. The analytical expressions for expected inventory level and deterioration level in temporary warehouse, maximum inventory level, maximum wastage level, average total cost, wastage cost and profit are derived for the proposed model by using nonlinear programming technique. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the results.

Keywords-lotus petal fuzzy number, regular weighted point technique, temporary warehouse cost constraint, machine time constraint.
